Award Winning Sound
It is said, "Music is the language of the soul" and nothing could be truer for this Jazz Ensemble. Since 2008, the band has received awards for its superb performances. The band won Buffalo's Top Big Band Music Award four years in a row and was lauded with induction to the Hall of Achievement by the Buffalo Music Awards in 2010. Remaining focused on delivering top notch performance, The Easy Street Big Band continues to live up to their reputation as an award winning ensemble.

Meet the Band
Easy Street brings together the talents of 18 accomplished musicians from across Western New York, each with their own unique voice and experiences which gives the band it's award winning tone.
Wayne Blumrick
Band Leader, Public Relations Director, 1st Tenor, Flute
Graduated in 1977 from Fredonia State where he participated in Jazz Ensemble. Wayne is one of the original members of The Easy Street Big Band and took over as co-leader in 2014. He taught music for 33 years at Lyndonville Central School, taught privately 5 years at St.Peter/Northridge as well as a long term substitute at Roy-Hart in 2016.
Larry Scaglione
Business Manager, 1st Alto
Larry has played the saxophone since 1963. He obtained a BME (Bach. Music Education) from SUNY Fredonia. Influences include Charlie Parker and Phil Woods. He works as a Customer Service Representative for Unifrax Corporation in Tonawanda. Outside interests include photography, many types woodworking, including woodturning, carving, wood toys and furniture.
Dennis Brockman
2nd Alto
Dennis has played sax since 4th grade. His biggest influence was father Gary Brockman, also a Jazz Saxophonist. Dennis is Retired and working.
Timothy Martin
Bari Sax
Timothy Martin began his teaching career in 2006 and is currently in his 15th year in the Lockport City School District. Throughout his career, Tim has taught instrumental music in all grade levels and is currently teaching grades 9-12 at Lockport High School. He has served as music department chairperson since 2017, VP of Jazz for NCMEA since 2011, a group chairperson and conductor for many All-County ensembles, and one of the directors/conductors for the Summer Honors Band program since 2013. Tim was named the Buffalo State Instrumental Music Educator of the Year in 2022. In his personal life, he enjoys spending time with his wife Holly and his twins Emmie and Leo. His hobbies include spending time outdoors, traveling, woodworking and performing saxophone in various ensembles throughout Western New York. Tim is a graduate of SUNY Fredonia, completing his undergraduate degree in Music Education and his graduate degree in Music Performance with a concentration in conducting.
David Blumrick
2nd Tenor
Has played saxophone since 8yo. Performed with the Fredonia Jazz Ensemble and Latin Jazz Ensemble during college. Employed as an Account Executive at a benefits administration company. Plays bass guitar for The Moon Hunters.
Jerry Yoder
1st Trombone
Has played trombone 43yrs. Influences include USAF - Airmen of Note, Maynard Ferguson, Count Basie. Jerry also plays in Community Band, Wind Ensemble, and Octet. Professional Firefighter/Paramedic for the City of Batavia. Hobbies include biking, hiking and hunting.
Peter Blackwell
2nd Trombone
Peter has been a member of the ESBB for 10yrs. He also plays with The Orchard Park Symphony and subs with numerous groups in WNY. Peter is employed as a Systems Analyst for HSBC. One of his favorite hobbies with his wife is completing 1000 piece puzzles in under 7 days.
Michael Anton Sciortino
3rd Trombone
Graduated from SUNY Fredonia with a degree in Music Performance. Also performs with The Buffalo Niagara Concert Band and Orchard Park Symphony (on violin). Michael is an attorney working in IT.
Michael Bossert
Bass Trombone
Has played trombone for 16yrs. Michael received his Bachelors of Music Education from SUNY Fredonia. Active member of 6 Community Bands/Orchestras including the German-American Musicians Association. Michael is employed at HEALTHeLINK.
Bill Siedler
1st Trumpet/Fluglehorn
Has played trumpet for 40+ years. B.M. in Trumpet, studied with David Kuehn, Bob Smith and Fred Mills of the Canadian Brass. Performed with Florida Orchestra and served as principal trumpeter for Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, FL. Influences include Maynard Ferguson and Maurice Andre.
Richard Goss
2nd Trumpet
BME and MM Arkansas State University, music educator for 30yrs, 25yrs at Lancaster H.S. Conductor for the Lancaster Town Band since 1997. Studied trumpet with David Kuehn and Dick Jorgensen. Studied composition with Jared Spour. Plays tennis in his spare time.
Jeff Glaub
3rd Trumpet
Jeff is a music teacher in the Buffalo Public School district and graduated with his bachelor's degree from SUNY Fredonia and a master's degree from Buffalo State. He is also the music director for the German American Musicians Association of Buffalo.
John Kresse
4th Trumpet
Studied trumpet with Alex Jokipii and Geoffrey Hardcastle of the BPO, graduated from SUNY Fredonia with B.M.E and M.M. Teaches music at Frontier Central School District. Performs with various groups and serves as a worship leader for One Church.
Matt Wiltrout
Keyboard
Composer/Arranger. Has played piano 29yrs and began performing publicly for country clubs, coffee shops and weddings at 12. Matt studied classical and jazz under Buffalo's own Krista Seddon. Influences include Cory Henry, Bill Evans, Herbie, Oscar Peterson, Brad Mehldau. Employed by National Grid as Lead Engineering Supervisor.
Paul Monaco
Bass
A graduate of the Armed Forces School of Music, SUNY Empire State College and Canisius College, Paul Monaco was involved in Army Bands from 1982 till 1992. Currently, Paul is the Director of Orchestras for the Royalton-Hartland Central School District in Middleport, NY, and plays violin and/or electric bass for musical productions at the Historic Palace Theater in Lockport, NY.
Jonathan Hager
Drums
Jonathan Hager is a Buffalo native who performs across all of Western, New York as a session
musician. He performs with numerous theater companies, the Easy Street Big Band, Shwing
(jazz combo), and currently is the Principal Percussionist and General Manager for the
Cheektowaga Symphony Orchestra.
Jonathan is a SUNY Buffalo State graduate with a Bachelor of Arts; performance concentrations
in Classical Guitar, Percussion, and Electric Bass. In 1997, SUNY Buffalo awarded him the
Dean’s Medal for Excellence. Following his studies at SUNY Buffalo, he went on to Graduate
studies in composition at the Crane School of Music with Dr. David Heinick, Dr Paul Siskind,
and Dr. Paul Steinberg.
Jonathan has been a private music instructor for well over 25 years and currently teaches all
styles of guitar, drums, percussion, and bass at Guitar Center. He is also a proud member of the
Buffalo musicians’ association.
Scott Stoberl
Male Vocal
Singing has been a lifelong passion with influences from Soul to Crooners to Jazz. Began performing over 35 years ago with various party bands including "The Hot Shots" and "Sunset Drive." Scott has been a member of the ESBB since its inception and has also been a guest vocalist with other local bands. Other interests include cars, cars and more cars.
Molly Colton
Female Vocal
Singing solos since 2yo in church. Musical genres of influence include Christian, Gospel, Country with specific influences from Natalie Cole, Doris Day and Sarah Vaughan. Travels solo as a Christian Music Evangelist. Has performed for Radio Disney and with The Newsboys, Jesse McCartney and Jump5. Pastor's wife.
